| What if it is raining the morning of the race? |
|
We cannot reschedule Thanksgiving, nor can we reschedule the race. Whether sun, clouds or rain, the Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble will begin at 9:00 a.m. on November 26, 2009 |
| How can I register before the race? |
|
You can register online at www.active.com until November 20. Additionally, you can download a race form, fill it out and send it along with a check to: Knights of Columbus, Turkey Day Run, 89 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401. |
| How can I register the week of and the morning of the race? |
|
You can register the week of the race at the tent on Tobacco Street on the northeast side of Marion Square next to Embassy Suites, 337 Meeting Street. Registration days and times are:

| Are there any registration discounts? |
|
This year, the Knights of Columbus are offering several discounts. Those age 75 and over register for free (excludes t-shirt) while First Responders (firefighters, police officers and EMT workers) will receive a $5.00 discount. We are also offering a family discount - register 4, get the 5th free (free registration excludes t-shirt). In order to receive these discounts, you must mail in your registration form or register in person at the Knights of Columbus Hall the week of the race. |
| What is the Children's Fun Run? |

The Children's Fun Run is an opportunity for kids to participate in the day's activities. The run will commence around 10:00 a.m. on Marion Square and will include the following four age and distance categories: participants ages 8-10, 200 Meters; participants 6-7, 100 Meters; participants 4-5, 50 Meters; and anyone age 3 and under will waddle through a course of 25 meters. The times for each individual children's race are:

| How can I register my child for the Children's Fun Run? What is the cost? |

You can register your child for the Children's Fun Run during race week at the tent on Tobacco Street on the northeast side of Marion Square next to Embassy Suites, 337 Meeting Street. The cost is $3.00 per child or 2 children for $5.00. There is no online registration. Registration for race does not allow the child to participate in the 5K race. |
| Where are the proceeds from the race donated? |
|
Every year, a portion of the proceeds from the race are donated to Lowcountry charities. Last year, the Turkey Day Run gave money to more than a dozen Lowcountry charities including Birthright, St. Vincent de Paul, Lowcountry Food Bank, Crisis Ministries, Windwood Farm, Jenkins Orphanage, Neighborhood House and East Cooper Community Outreach. Additionally, more than $13,000 was donated to the Heroes Fund, money that will help the families of First Responders who die or are seriously injured in the line of duty. |
| Where and when may I pick up my race packet? |

If you register online or via mail in the weeks before the race, you may pick up your race packet during Thanksgiving week at the tent on Tobacco Street on the northeast side of Marion Square next to Embassy Suites, 337 Meeting Street. Packet pick-up days and times are:

| Where should I park? |
|
When picking up your race packet, you can park on Calhoun Street, in the lot behind the Knights of Columbus Hall or in the Francis Marion Hotel parking garage. The morning of the race, you may park in off street parking around Marion Square or in the Francis Marion Hotel parking lot. |
| What can I expect after the race? |
|
The Knights of Columbus host a post-race party at Marion Square and in the area around the Hall. Water, food and refreshments will be available. Additionally, the band Plain Jane will perform. |
| Will cash awards be given? |
|
Yes, the top three male and female finishers will receive a cash award of $500, $250 and $100 respectively. This year, the winner in the Master and Grand Master group will receive $100. |
| What other awards will given? |
|
There will be awards given to the top 10 male and female finishers. These prizes will be framed prints. Additionally, the top finishers in each age group will receive an award. There will also be an award for best costume. |
